This website is here in the memory of Robert Evans, founder of Robs Satellite TV, who died on 21st July 2013, aged just 49.
His memory lives on in his creation, this website, and his work continues here and on the new site, helping people to learn about Satellite TV and to exchange information.
The community is still strong, we (Rob and I) had decided to move from to add new features to the website and make it better. Please go there and register. Regards, Paul Evans (Nephew of Rob).

Hotbird Iran Channels

The what I like to call 'Hotbird Iran Channels' broadcast on of course the Eutelsat Hotbird satellite at 13 degrees east, they show lots of US films and television series, the films and series on these channels are sometimes dubbed into Farsi but a large amount are broadcast in the original English language with Farsi subtitles, te latter is good news for us because some of these films and series are extremely good and some are very recent too, some wrestling sports too are shown on the 'Hotbird Iran Channels', these are UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) and WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment).

The main 'Hotbird Iran Channels' which you should really be checking out are the following channels - Movie 1, AVA Movie, AAA Family, Perspolis TV, Iran FMTV, Iran MNTV, Persian Star 1, Persian Star 2, Persian Movie, all the 'Hotbird Iran Channels' are broadcast on the Eutelsat Hotbird satellite at 13 degrees east, frequencies are listed below, scroll down further for some further information too!

11.054 H SR 27.500 FEC 5/6

11.200 V SR 27.500 FEC 5/6

MOVIE 1

11.317 V SR 27.500 FEC 3/4

11.604 H SR 27.500 FEC 5/6

11.642 H SR 27.500 FEC 3/4

other channels will be listed as and when they become available

Unfortunately EPG (electronic programme guide) information is not transmitted by these channels and website information is also hard to come by, but I will endeavour to seek out programme schedule information for these channels and list/link them below.

Below are some that I have found, Google Translate sort of sorts it and even if the translation is not completely correct it is possible to work out roughly what film is on, for example today (19/01/12) the translation said 'film is asmarf', yeeeees, it was The Smurfs Movie!, got that on my hard drive for the kids to watch, great, but even if the translation is not so good at least we have start times! set your hard drives/reminders and make sure you set them a little early and a little late too (for possible early starts and late finishes), you can always delete later if the film is no good or it is in Persian, but I guarantee you there will be some 'gems' and English 'gems' to be had for sure

If anyone knows where I can get Programme Guide/Programme Schedule information for any of these channels, please mail me

Please note that the time in Iran is three and a half hours ahead of UK time (i.e. 0000 UK=0330 Iran time)

IRAN-MNTV programme information

can be found HERE

IRAN-FMTV programme information

can be found HERE

Persian Star 1 and 2 website is HERE

Unfortunately the Persian Star 1 and 2 channels programme schedules are set up so that 'translate' does not translate, can anyone Persian/Farsi?

If anyone knows of any more programme information pages or websites for these channels, would you be so kind and let me know via the 'Contact Me' option in the navigation bar at the top of this page, many thanks in anticipation.
